Julie Kleeman is an experienced counsellor. She has worked extensively counselling people in a GP practice, University College Hospital, Occupational Health settings in Central London, as well seeing clients privately.
She offers affordable, individual counselling, providing a confidential, non judgemental space, enabling people to explore issues such as anxiety, low self-esteem, and loss, in order to feel better, enable change if desired, and to develop coping strategies.
Julie sees people for a range of issues, for example bereavement, stress, depression, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, work related issues, redundancy, infertility, miscarriage, chronic migraines, history of sexual abuse, domestic violence, recent diagnosis of disease in self or partner.
Julie’s nursing background means she is particularly able to help people struggling with health issues.
Her qualifications include a Diploma in Adult Counselling from University of London, (1994) and a Certificate in Counselling skills and attitudes from Westminster Pastoral Foundation. Her continuing professional development is ongoing. She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a registered nurse. She has recently passed the compulsory Audit for registration with the BACP in January 2020.
Julie believes that clients must feel comfortable with the counsellor, and arranges an initial meeting. This provides an opportunity to explore concerns and think about what they would like to gain from the counselling. Weekly appointments of 50 minutes are then offered, on a regular day and time, with some flexibility.
Daytime, evening and Saturday appointments available. During the COVID-19 pandemic, counselling is available by phone and Skype/Zoom.
Julie is an approved provider with Cigna Healthcare. Her practice is based in Swiss Cottage and Hampstead in North West London.
